Device Concept & Working Principle
Sono-vision is an assistive wearable mechatronic device designed to provide real-time spatial awareness and collision prevention for visually impaired individuals.
The device emits ultrasonic wave pulses and measures time-of-flight reflections to detect forward obstacles up to 4 meters away. Distance readings are dynamically translated into frequency-modulated audio tones and vibrational haptic alerts, enabling users to navigate unfamiliar indoor and outdoor environments safely.
Prototype assembly with ultrasonic transceivers and microcontroller logic.
